Life is a road best traveled together. When Daksha and her husband Bhaskar arrived in Canada more than 22 years ago, the teaching of Indian cuisine in British Columbia was still a relatively new part of an emerging food scene. Daksha found that people fell in love with her flavours and style of cooking that leveraged her African background and Indian ancestry. It was only natural then that she started developing recipes and spices so people could enjoy the same experience at home, and Daksha’s Gourmet Spices was launched as a family business in 1996.

Since then, Daksha’s Gourmet Spices have always made quality their highest priority. All their spices are sieved and cleaned by hand, then blended and ground using recipes passed down through the generations.

Today, Daksha’s Gourmet Spices produces 12 authentic Indian Curry Mixes such as: Butter Chicken, Chicken Curry, Korma, Tandoori, Vindaloo, Aloo Gobi, and Daal. Simple and easy to use, their line also includes Chai products such as: Caffeine-Free Chai Latté and Caffeine-Free Chai Spice.

A self-published author of five (5) Indian cuisine cookbooks, Daksha is most proud of how all her products are Gluten-Free with No Added Salt, No MSG, No Preservatives, Vegan and Allergen-Free.
