Please welcome Suzanne Schmidt of Suzanne’s Hot Stuff! Born in England and raised in Guyana, Suzanne’s food journey began when she wanted to make her own hot sauce at home. Hubby loved her sauce, friends loved her sauce, and even better…they were prepared to pay for it! It’s a great reminder how support for local business is impactful and for Suzanne, it was a catalyst pushing her to pursue her Food Handler’s certificate and ensure her operation was HACCP certified. In early March 2021, Suzanne dived fully into the deep-end as an entrepreneur and parted ways with her employer. Today she’s an owner, manufacturer, sales person, marketer, and accounting manager of a thriving sauce business! Fortune favours the brave, and Suzanne is grateful for the support of Foodland and Sobeys locations local to her Peterborough region of Ontario.
