For Heather Shouldice of BUFF, life has a funny way of getting you to exactly where you’re supposed to be – even if the journey is a long and winding path! After going back to school for nursing, Heather never imagined a food category like meat sticks would ever feature prominently in her life. With two small kids at home, her food journey started out of a desire to know more about what they were eating. A friend then introduced the family to bison as a source of lean protein and they were hooked from the first bite. After much research and testing of products from all over North America, Heather perfected the BUFF brand to be a blend of beef and bison - cold smoked, naturally fermented, and free-from fillers. Today Heather now has Ontario’s 3rd largest bison farm, Big Rock Bison, and a large following of gluten-free, keto, and paleo customers wanting a better-for-you tasty meat snack stick that satisfies.
